Music Friday July 15
Lancaster, PA – Music For Everyone, a Lancaster-based non-profit charitable organization that raises money for music programs for schools and community groups throughout Lancaster County, is pleased to present the unveiling on Friday, July 15, of three, large scale public art installations as part of the MFE/Mayor’s Office of Special Events (MOOSE) Summer Music Friday Concert series in Lancaster Square.
The first, titled, “Faces, Places, and Traces of Lancaster City – Details of Lancaster City”, was managed and created by Pennsylvania College of Art and Design students John Bibbo and Jade Hubley using decals provided by Conestoga DPI, a design and graphic services company (conestogadpi.com). The project was managed by Anne Kirby of The Creative House of Lancaster (thechl.org), The Candy Factory (candyissweet.com) and Kinectiv marketing (getKinectiv.com).
The second was conceived, created and installed by the artists at Two Dudes Painting Company (TwoDudes.com).
And the third, titled “Ruby Red” was created by the artists of Atomic Design, Lititz, PA (AtomicDesign.tv). “We have been looking for ways to brighten up Lancaster Square as part of our Music Friday Summer concert series. Adding a visual art component made sense. We are delighted that these three organizations stepped forward to offer their creative energy and resources to the Music Friday mix,” said John Gerdy, president of Music For Everyone.“What is even better is that these installations will remain in place for several months, adding color and a fonky vibe to what is otherwise a pretty drab public space and enabling our community to enjoy them long after the music ends.”
Additional installations will be added as part of the August and September Music Friday events, making this a vibrant, growing and evolving addition to the Lancaster arts and cultural landscape. The Keystone Arts Center (Keystoneart.org) and Live Green Lancaster (LiveGreenLancaster.org) will create the August installation and FIG Lancaster (figlancaster.com)will create the September installation.
July Music Friday will feature the Latin sound of Malena. The show begins at 5:30 PM and runs until 8:45 PM. Beer, Wine and Food are available as well as a live art exhibition by Root 222 and tango dance lessons.
